A quintessential English region. On this holiday there will be a visit to probably England’s finest Palace, as well as a wonderful day out in the Cotswolds and opportunities to explore Oxford and Cirencester.
Depart South Wales and travel to the Swindon Marriott Hotel.
Day 2 – The Cotswolds
Excursion to three of the Cotswolds’ most popular places: Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh.
Day 3 – Cirencester
Cirencester (often referred to as the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’) was Britain’s second largest town during Roman times. Cirencester’s market square is dominated by the cathedral-like Parish Church of St. John Baptist.
Day 4 – Oxford & Blenheim Palace
A fantastic day awaits. Our first port of call is Oxford, the “City of Dreaming Spires”, and the long-established centre of learning, with its associations to many TV & Film productions the most famous being Inspector Morse and Lewis. In the afternoon we make the short journey to Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill. The remainder of the day will be spent here exploring the 2000 acres of Capability Brown landscaped parklands, lake and gardens as well as the Palace itself, with its lavish interiors, rich furnishings and over 300 years of stories to tell.
After breakfast depart for home.
